Malaysia slashes growth forecasts, ups deficit

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 - Malaysia’s government reduced its 2009 economic growth forecast to 3.5 percent from a prior forecast of 5.4 percent and upped its budget deficit target for the year to 4.8 percent of gross domestic product from 3.6 percent.

Acquittal in Malaysia murder saga

Malaysian political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda has been acquitted of involvement in the October 2006 murder of a Mongolian interpreter.
Two policemen will face trial on 10 November for the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu, who was blown up with explosives after being shot.
