Najib Hints on Goodies for ALL

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the government would announce a ‘pleasant surprise’ for Malaysians when the 2009 Budget is tabled on Aug 29. With the upcoming budget due on a few days after the Permatang Pauh by-elections.
This only can be good news for Malaysians but i would think that the government has got much much more to do if they want too secure the trust of the rakyat again. Ad-hoc goodies are not what we are interested in.
Everyone was complaining when the fuel price went up, then when the subsidy was announced..Some kept quiet. Collecting cold hard RM625 from the post office would have been a good experience despite the long que but really…What is RM625???
With the increase in fuel that wouldnt be enough to fuel your cars for 2 months of free petrol and paying RM2.70 a litre for the rest of the year? Only a un-realistic person would think that its a good deal. We still have not seen the transportation system being improved, we have not seen the price of food reduced.
I tell you what ive been seeing, have a look at the sidebar on this website….The price of fuel dropping every single day!!
Goodies are good but we are interested in the LONG TERM well being of every single citizen of Malaysia not the CHOOSEN FEW!

Crude Oil at $118.82 a Barrel
So when the price of fuel went up to about USD$150 a barrel, the government was quick in increasing the price of fuel by 40 odd percent and causing massive traffic jams with their short notice announcement. Today i was looking at the price of crude oil (chart on the sidebar ->) is at USD$118.82 a barrel. So what now?
Do we need to wait for a reduction of the price ?? Im a little lost ..someone help explain how it works to me?

Anwar vs Shabery
Its the first of his kind, PKR de facto leader Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim(DSAI) will be up against Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek on the 15th of July, 9pm. The debate will be about the government’s decision to raise fuel prices.DSAI has been going all over the country telling supporters that the minute the opposition comes into power the price of fuel will drop and it be interesting to see how this debate pan’s out.
I still feel that Datuk Shabery Cheek is not the right minister to be debating but never the less at least he has got the steel to come forward to debate this much talked about issue. This debate will be shown live on TV3, Astro, www.anwaribrahimblog.com . I found out about the details via facebook where many groups have created events, informing its members of this debate.
The PKR page on Fabebook als has got info of this debate which you can find HERE.
Should be awesome, will you be watching it??

Kelana Jaya July 6th Protest-Full Story
This is my full report to the Protest Sejuta Rakyat which was held at the Kelana Jaya stadium today(6th July 2008). I was at Giant Kelana Jaya at 9am meeting some friends from the Pakatan Rakyat Facebook group. We started walking towards the stadium at about 945am.
It was about a 15minutes walk from where we met. Getting there was no drama as we only had to follow the sea of red, if one didn’t know what was happening he/she would think there was a football match between Liverpool and Manchester United at the Kelana Jaya stadium.

As we got closer to the stadium, we could hear the loud cry of REFORMASI ringing in echo style. When we reached the stadium we made our way in greeted by the Hindaf members who were having a session of their own outside the stadium.

Kelana Jaya July 6th Protest

I was at the Protest Satu Juta, demanding to bring down the price of fuel at the Kelana Jaya Stadium,06th July 2008. Its a carnival like athmosphere with people coming down by the thousands. It was a sea of red with almost everyone dressed in red t-shirts protesting the fuel hike. I met up with many leaders their teams who were out to support this call by the people.
No sign of the police or fru anywhere yet but there are many road blocks all around, funnily on the opposite direction from the venue.
Present were Tian Chua,Ronnie Liu,Manikavasagam,Gwo-Burne,Nik Azmi to name a few.DSAI is expected to make a appearance later today.
Pictures(managed to take some good ones :) and full report to follow.
