The real danger?

How some time can make so much difference. Above are images of P Uthayakumar. The hindraf leader has been in ISA for a while now and we cant deny the impact he and his Hindraf friends made in the results of the general elections. He has been behind close doors for too long now with only one of the leaders fighting the cause overseas.
There have been calls for their release as things have settled down now and so far no action has been in sight except rare sightings of them being taken to hospitals for treatments. Why are they still detained?
Are they the threat real?
I was in Singapore for a week, in Singapore the whole country has been on high alert from the escape of Mas Selamat from their detention centre. It hit me when i was on my way back by bus.At the Singapore immigration check there was these 2 guys who were carrying machine guns and constantly looking out for the terrorist. When you go in there are massive checks and the officers stamping the passport has 2-3 looks at you to verify before stamping the passport.
Then when you pass the bridge and get to the Malaysian immigration, its a different story. The immigration officers have cigarettes lit up in the stamping area, they don’t look at you when stamping your passport and NO LUGGAGE CHECKS AT ALL! Not even a officer at sight at this checking area.
Are we remotely interested in national security? Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t ISA supposed to be for internal security? So we lock up those who want the better-men of the people but open our gates to national threats?
Just Poor!
(I honestly was ashamed at that moment when i when into the immigration check,more after passing through the Singaporean check. Clear difference between a 1st world nation and a “developing nation”)

i guess this must be the first visit to singapore for you. to tell you the truth, this is scenario which has been happening for many many years in Johor check point. I am so used to this situation because i am a regular visitor to singapore.
