110 MIC Members Resign to Join PAS
You know that racial politics is not something the people want anymore when members of a certain race based party quit to join another party! MIC is become irrelevant in my view, unless the old hands wash their hands of the party and effectively re-brand themselves to sing the new tune its going to be just another piece of history.
Check this story from the star
The Kampung Jebong MIC branch in Simpang here was officially dissolved when 110 of its members quit the party to become members of “Kelab Penyokong PAS” (PAS Supporters Club).
Branch chairman M. Muninathan, accompanied by committee members, submitted their application forms to Bukit Gantang MP Roslan Shaharom at a village temple here on Saturday night.
Roslan said the welfare of the former MIC branch members and members of the Indian community would be taken care of.
“We will take care of you because any problems affecting the Indian community will also affect members of the other communities,” he said.
Roslan said he was indebted to the Indian community here as more than 95% of Indian voters within the Bukit Gantang parliamentary constituency had voted for him in the recently-concluded general election.
He said members of the community had every reason to rejoice as two of the three state seats in the constituency had been won by Barisan Rakyat, and the victors — Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu (Changkat Jering) and Tai Sing Ng (Kuala Sepetang) — had been appointed exco members of the new Perak state government.

Loh Gwo Burne
The general elections sprung a lot of surprises. Some candidates were worthy of their seats won some may just got into the scene at the right time and rode with the wave of calls by the public for a change. The likes of Hannah Yeoh,Nurul Izzah,Tony Puah have got that “special something” in them that as a voter you know these guys deserve a chance to prove their worth. On the other hand, in my opinion one of those who credited from this new wave is the new Kelana Jaya MP Loh Gwo Burne.

If you have been following the happenings before the elections, you would know Gwo Burne. He was the infamous camera man of the VK Lingam tape which hit our shores exposing the judiciary rot in Malaysia. I’m not sure how he found himself contesting for the Kelana Jaya parliamentary seat and won it beating the incumbent Lee Hwa Beng.
How did this happen? I suppose he was in the right place at the right time and now he finds himself with power and a pension if it doesn’t work out after 5years.
How did i come up with that conclusion? Watch the video below. God, i felt bad for the interviewer! She was trying to get some questions answered and Gwo Burne lacked focus, charisma and knowledge to answer the most basic questions. I also know that everyone deserves a chance and i sincerely hope the PKR leadership will guide this rookie in serving the people of Kelana Jaya and eventually turn out to be a good leader!

Tan Sri Khalid on Population Growth
Tan Sri Khalid has taken office in the Selangor state government and has not rested on his laurels and got straight to work. Amongst the problems and great opportunities to exploit. One of the challenges is how to accommodate the growth in population. In Selangor and Federal Territory, the Malaysian population is around five million, while the total number of people is about eight million. At least 1.5 million of these people are foreign laborers. How does he plan to address this??
What you call? I’m loving the work ethics! The new governments seem to be thinking out of the box in coming out of the conventional way of waiting for the money from above to help fuel the work! Well done!

A Open Letter

This is a superb open letter that was to Chandra Muzzafar on why most Malaysians crossed over to vote against the norm. The days of racial based politics are dying quick and a new Bangsa Malaysia is being conceived. The writer Jules Ong spilled the sentiments in the hearts of most Malaysians, its not about who did what to get the votes but who deserved them to create a Bangsa Malaysia!

Raja Petr-ified

A High Court here has ordered blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin as well as the group chief editor and editor of PKR’s Suara Keadilan to pay a total of RM7mil to Universiti Utara Malaysia and its vice-chancellor Tan Sri Dr Nordin Kardi for libel.
High Court deputy registrar Priscilla Gengadaran made the order Wednesday following a judgment in default she handed down on Feb 26 after the three had failed to file their defence within the required period.
She ordered the damages to be paid to the plaintiffs for claiming that Dr Nordin was a plagiarist on the Malaysia Today website and in the 98th edition of Suara Keadilan in November 2006.
Nordin and UUM had filed a lawsuit against Raja Petra, PKR, Suara Keadilan group chief editor and the editor. Only PKR had submitted its defence.
Priscilla ordered Raja Petra to pay RM2mil to Nordin and UUM, respectively. She also ordered each of the editors to pay RM1mil and RM500,000 to Nordin and UUM, respectively.

Terengganu debacle

When the elections were over and results were announced, there were 5 states that fell to the opposition. Out of which there were 3 which had a mix between PKR,PAS and DAP winners thus calls for a mixed opposition government. All states were straight forward except Perak when a PAS candidate was choosen as the Menteri Besar. At first there was some resistance from DAP who won most seats in that state. You have to understand that the opposition has never been in such a a scenario to react in a favorable way straight away. The problem was resolved within days and the systems were all go.
The rulling party straight jumped on the bandwagon saying all sorts of things about the opposition governments formed. Then Terengganu happened. Its more then 2 weeks after the general election and the drama still goes on. Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, appointed Ahmad, the State Assemblyman for Kijal as the Menteri Besar and the PM wanted incumbent chief minister Idris Jusoh to be re-appointed as the chief minister.
The king looked bad as the government wanted their man while the king appointed someone else. Why so much drama in a state that looks like the under nourished state of country?
Hmmm….. Which state is Petronas based?
I hope it all gets resolved as soon as possible and the people of Terengganu get what a certain portion of the state enjoys!
