ISRAELI PM VISITED JORDAN SECRETLY - ISRAELI RADIO

GAZA, Nov 20 (NNN-KUNA) — Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defence Minister Ehud Barak are reported to have made a secret visit to Jordan on Tuesday, where they met King Abdullah II.

Israeli radio quoted on Thursday a “top” official as saying that during the meeting, the Jordanian monarch urged Olmert and Barak not to launch large-scale military operations in the Gaza Strip.

According to the source, the Israeli leaders informed King Abdullah that they could not exercise self-restraint if Palestinian missiles continued to target Israeli towns.

The radio said the visit was made in response to a request by the Jordanian monarch.
