Tuaran: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) division here denied reports that Ansari Abdullah has resigned as Sabah PKR chief.

In a joint-statement, Division Secretary Jumin Jeffrey Masuling, division information chief Dos Panggal, Vice Chairman, Panilau Amzah Kohong and senior division committee member Gaibin Ransoi said Ansari is still a member and State and national party leader.

Jumin said Ansari also still heads the PKR Tuaran division.

“The report is rather misleading but party members should make effort to read diligently the current situation surrounding the party and the country,” he said.

He admitted there were hiccups in the party, especially among leaders including at the different levels and without exception among party leaders in the State and even at the divisions and branches. However, he claimed that such development showed the party was gaining attention and support from the people.

Meanwhile, (PKR) Youth exco member Pajudin Haji Nordin also refuted the purported resignation. He said when contacted in Hong Kong, Ansari described the report as ridiculous and believed churned up by certain individuals within the party.

Pajudin said that he had been receiving endless calls seeking an explanation, following the report.

He pointed out that PKR President Datin Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had full confidence in Ansari’s leadership to head the party’s Sabah liaison committee “despite the fact that certain quarters within the party were unhappy over the appointment”.
